Modelling / Painting

Modelling is great, I thoroughly enjoy it and having just started back in April / May, I am going to be like many a sad shit on the web and post photos of my crap for your enjoyment / derision. At most I expect maybe the odd one or two get inspired and steal a colour scheme or adapt it for their own. I know I have at least a dozen blogs post bookmarked with cool Necron colour schemes.

Was a bit limited on these ones as I had to start with a red base. My mate gave them to me and mentioned their previous owner had "fucking rickets" which I can only assume was a very bad vitamin deficiency. They had been spray painted a metallic red and after a week plus soaking in "Simple Green" that shit only lightened and the only thing coming off was one of the poor fuckers heads when I scrubbed it with a toothbrush. So a few layers of mixed paints later (and a good deal of time and input from Brent, practice and a lot less cash then expected, plus some Ultramarines and a bit more time with Brent) and we have the above. Their guns (gauss flayers) were painted as well, so I had to improvise. Very happy with result. 

The Test Model - he got a bleached skull for his efforts.

The board underneath was something my eldest boy and I made.  He was interested in how I based the models and wanted something similar.  Same principle, much larger scale.
