"Brent from BOLS versus the hobby anitpathy"

“Brent was frustrated.  His Necrons sat in their case one more, weeks after he had decided to breathe new life into them.  His new job had settled into a familiar rhythm and he had mowed the lawn.  Several time since in fact.  The baby was asleep, his wife was at work and he felt the urge to pull his dudesmen out of their tomb.  Except he was comfortable on the couch and he knew that he would end up getting into it so much he’d go to bed late, likely wake the baby and end up with less sleep than was ideal.

Kroot

The photos are a bit bright, too much flash.  I like the nice angle, shows shoulder pad and gun with feather.  Another angle, can't see it well but belt was made with poster-tack covered with super glue and then painted.

And They Shall Know No Fear!

Getting rid of Gargamel once and for all.
Some Space Marines. Good value pack, 5 of these guys (about $46) and 8 paints (@ $7 each) for $60 bucks. That's a decent saving.  Orange trim is Ultramarines 6th Company. Its nice to have something basic to practice painting on.  Although red is a colour that seems out of place in the pack, as aside from lenses and purity seal their is only really blood.  Blood Red and Mordian Blue do not make purple by the way.

Ca-mo-flage!

No Necron in this picture.

If I could see one here it would have been painted with a brown base, then my green mix, then scorpion green wash (really just a watered down brush pushing lumpy paint all over) and a couple of brown washes. Yellow eyes and coils and grass on its shoulders.  But as nothing is in this picture it could just be some rocks.  Ca - Mo - Flage ! (hand actions required)

More Modelling

I have a book I list all my paint mixes in. Quite handy listing how you did something juts in case you need to go and do it again. On the bright side, I got some Necrons new and thought I would have a play.  I mean, yeah, uniformity, but I figured if I was spending $60 bucks for 12 of the little bastards I was gonna play with it and have me some fun. I can't take photos to save my life.

Modelling / Painting

Modelling is great, I thoroughly enjoy it and having just started back in April / May, I am going to be like many a sad shit on the web and post photos of my crap for your enjoyment / derision. At most I expect maybe the odd one or two get inspired and steal a colour scheme or adapt it for their own. I know I have at least a dozen blogs post bookmarked with cool Necron colour schemes.
